Project Display Requirements

Make sure your project display complies with all ISEF Safety Regulations.
You should also consult the TNJSF Display and Safety Review Form

Display requirements for ALL projects
Must have: Must NOT have:
Maximum display size of 30" deep x 48" wide with a maximum height of 78" from the table or 108" from the floor (must request space without a table) Student's age or grade
A 4" high x 6" wide blank space in the upper left corner of the center panel for the safety clearance tag Student's school
Student's name Awards, publications, or patents
Background work/diagrams/pictures/data that were published or done by others (e.g. the mentor) should be clearly labeled in the background section of the poster as "Published data (full citation)" or "Background work done by others on research team", respectively. The label should appear in a separate line below the caption with the same font size as the caption. A footnote is NOT acceptable. The mentor's name and institution may not appear on the poster. Instead you may put the notice: "This work was performed with an outside mentor."
Bring a 9-foot grounded extension cord if your project requires electricity. You will have ONE outlet available for your use, PROVIDING YOU HAVE NOTIFIED US ON YOUR ENTRY FORM.
Requirements for work done at a Regulated Research Institution or with an Outside Mentor
For projects that were mentored by scientists or engineers at universities or in industry.
Must have: Must NOT have:
If the work was performed outside of your school or home, a clear label must appear below the title of the project. The label should state "Work performed at a _______ laboratory", with either University, Industry, or Independent filled in the blank (whichever is appropriate).

If the work was performed at school or at home with advisement from an Outside Mentor, a clear label must appear below the title of the project. The label should state "Work performed with guidance from an Outside Mentor."

The name of the institution where the work was performed (or from which virtual assistance was given) should not appear on the poster, even as an acknowledgement.
For data obtained by others (e.g. the mentor), the graph/table/picture must be clearly labeled "Data taken by others on research team". The label should appear in a separate line below the caption with the same font size as the caption. A footnote is NOT acceptable. If the item or data were obtained by the mentor, then use only that description, do not put the mentor's name or institution in the citation.
Requirements for Continuation projects
For projects required to submit ISEF Form 7
Must have: Must NOT have:
Any work done in a prior year should be presented in the background section ONLY and clearly labeled as prior work. Prior work presented outside of the background section of the display. This is grounds for disqualification.
